Anita Steward

She began her art journey in 1977 after earning her BFA from the University of Memphis. She has taught art in both public and private schools. She owned and operated Anita's Arts Cool in Buford,GA.

Anita is an exceptional award winning  international artist who holds over 40 years of exhibiting her art in the Atlanta area and in other countries. Her prolific art ranges from photo realistic to creative fantasy.She has exhibited solo shows of 70 pieces in the Defoor Center, 56 pieces from 11 different countries she visited at Gilmer Arts in Ellijay, GA.

She has been commissioned to design numerous beautiful portraits of people and pets.
Even tho she has spent many years producing realistic portraits, she is best known for her creative Lacy Ladies series. She loves transforming  clumps of inked gauze
into fantastic flowing figures with raised surfaces.  These  relief sculptures are  designed to entice viewers of different cultures to connect and imagine what their faces would look like.
